  • Raphelisia, named after the famous adventurer Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles who discovered it in Sumatra in the early nineteenth century.  Purportedly the largest flower in the world and can reach upto a meter across.  Pollenation is through flies attracted by the rotting flesh smell the flower exudes.  Not one for the garden!
